Te Kura Ākau Taitoka University of Otago College of Education is on the far end of the main university campus, given its history as a separate "Teachers College" until 2007.  Those participants walking from city centre or the motels on George Street can take a scenic walk through the main campus, alongside the Ōwheo Waters of the Leith, before proceeding down
​Union Street East towards the large Forsyth Barr Stadium
